We’ve gathered some of the most common questions about elementary, preschool, and daycare so you can have an easy reference point to the various answers and resources.

What are your tuition rates?

When does school start and end each day?

Elementary school starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30 pm. Drop-off begins at 8:45 a.m. and students must be picked up no later than 3:40 p.m.

What are your class sizes?

The vast majority of our elementary classes top off at 20 students. In special circumstances, up to two additional students may be added.

What days do you offer preschool? What are the hours for preschool?

We offer two days (Tuesday/Thursday) and three days (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) for both Preschool 3 & Preschool 4. The hours are 9:00 to 11:30am for all preschool classes.

When does enrollment start?

Current elementary families benefit from continuous enrollment. New families are able to enroll on or after the last Tuesday of February. Please see our current calendar for more information.

How long is childcare open? Do you offer before and after school care?

The childcare is open from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. School age students can attend childcare during these hours whenever school is not in session, and before and after care when there is school.

What is the admission process?

What are the age requirements for students?

September 10 is the cutoff date for student birthdays. Students must be three for Preschool 3, four for Preschool 4, and five for Kindergarten.

Are you affiliated with a specific church? And do we have to be Christian to attend?

Riviera is a ministry of West Hills Community Church. In order to support the mission of the church, our staff must be in agreement with the statement of faith. Families who attend RCS are not required to attend church. However, they must be willing for their children to be taught biblical principles and agree to be supportive of those values while they are enrolled at RCS.

How long does the admissions process take?

Depending on the time of year, the admissions process can take anywhere from two to four weeks.

Are your teachers licensed?

Elementary teachers are expected to hold a current Oregon teaching license. With board approval, an unlicensed teacher may be hired while they finish up their licensing requirements.

Can I volunteer in my child's classroom?

Absolutely! Please visit our Partner With Us Page and fill out the form for your background check. Every family from Preschool – 5th grade has required volunteer time each year. Please see this document for the specific information.
